Auto Racing: V8-V10, cam shafts, bell housing
Questionhow long would you say it takes to upgrade to a V8 to a V10
AnswerHello Chris , thanks for the Question but its not entirely clear. I think you mean upgrade FROM a V8 TO a V10.
The answer is it is virtually impossible to upgrade the same engine to a V10 because a V8 has 4 cylinders each side of the engine and a V10 has five cylinders each side. So it would mean modifying the block , cylinder heads, crank shafts, cam shafts Virtually everything !!
The easiest thing obviously to do is buy a whole new V10, providing there is space in the vehicle to fit the larger V10 engine and also the the bell housing/gearbox mounts are all the same.
One tip: Keep the V8 engine you have and with the right tuning upgrades you will easy find more power than a V10 !!
Hope this helps.
