Auto Racing: 96 Pontiac and ETS, gas mileage, traction control

Question
This isnt just a racing question, but also a question about gas MPG.

The 96 Grand AM SE has an option of "ETS" which is the traction control, with a tune up and it "OFF" i can pretty much burn my front tires.....and "ON" (no light indication)it affects the power provided to the wheels.

My question is on a drag, starting from 0 mph and also 35 mph which setting am i better off using?
Also, is the ETS affect my cars gas mileage?

Answer
I am sure that with the ETS off you would have better launches. The only way to be sure is to take it to the track and test it. The last thing you want to do however is sit there and annihilate your tires off the line…practice makes perfect. In regards to your ETS and mileage I wouldn’t figure the traction control would affect your mileage too significantly. You did not specify whether it was better with or without it however.
