Auto Racing: prelude 1/4 mile asphalt pushing like dump truck, mile asphalt, prelude 1

Question
I have a 94 prelude I have just put all new ball joints , bushings, brakes ext on.
I am running 1 3/4 inch neg camber on RF.
1 3/4 positive on LF.
1 3/4 neg on RR.
1 " positive on LR.
It is lowered 2 inches And the rake is level front to back. I have an stock
LSD. And have done nothing to caster. I have the fastest car on the track
But get my butt handed to me on the turns. Which are left only.
What can I do to help the.pushing I get in decent but can't get back on it
Quick enough. If I let go of my wheel on the straight ot doesn't pull either way.
I am assuming I need caster but how much and which ways.

Answer
I would try for 5 Deg. pos. caster on the RF (the upper pivot is to the rear of the lower ball joint.) , and maybe 3 on the LF .  Lots of caster increases the camber GAIN in the turns.  I also would try for about 4 Deg. Neg. camber in the RF. your 1 1/2 isn't really enough , espceially for a 1/4 mile.   Are you running any toe out on the front.?  Most smaller cars work well with about 1/16" toe out on the RF and 1/32 on the LF   A hair of toe in on the rear both sides.

Stock spring rates ?  I would stiffen the LF , leave the RF alone and  try a bigger anti-sway bar.  Also give some thought to a rear anti sway bar.  The current thinking leads to fairly soft springs but with a lot of anti-roll . The rear bar should be about 70 to 75% the size of the front.

With all that caster it's going to be a bitch to steer at low speed. If it's really bad, ease off ,. but only enough to make it driveable .

Let me know how this works, Oh , only make ONE change at a time and record both your feelings , AND the lap times. Finally , get the book "How To Make Your Car Handle" by Fred Puhn Book stores can order it, should be about $16.00 and worth it's weight in the pay line.

Good luck and let me know what happens .
