Hello Steve,

I own a 1989 5.0 and looking to upgrade the cam.
The following has been upgraded already:

gt-40 upper/lower intake
3.55 gears
cold air intake
alum. driveshaft
MSD ignition/distributor
Taylor 8mm wires
Texas pulley
Headman headers
Dyamax mufflers
SVO H-PIPE
B&M short shift

I have been informed by a couple of different people on two different cams, the B303 was good
and the E303. What would give me the best performance and is this the best route for my next upgrade. She is my baby and only has
19000 original miles.

Honestly, I wouldn't go with either of them.  Not that Ford's cams aren't good, but they're sort of a one-size-fits-all approach to camshafts.  You'd probably be much happier with a cam that's got a little more development behind it.  For a hydraulic roller cam like your car has, I'm a big fan of Comp Cam's Xtreme Energy line.  They offer really good power over a wider powerband.  Comp's Dual Energy and Magnum lines are good as well, but the everyday driveability of the Xtreme line is hard to beat.  I've a mild Xtreme Energy cam in my '84 Mustang (with a 331, not a 5.0L) and it gives a little bit of a lopey idle but responds right off the line.  Couldn't be happier with it.  I know this kind of sounds like an ad for Comps, but I've had good results with their stuff.  Hope this helps.

Steve

Thanks Steve and will take a look at the Comps
and do you think this would be the next step for
an upgrade with good results. I am also looking for that lopey idle sound and these cams seem to fit the shoe by your description. Maybe go with
the mild Xtreme line such as you run and this might be my last upgrade so I would like to do
it right.

Cheers!

A cam is always a good upgrade, but to really take full advantage of it you'd probably want a decent set of heads to really open everything up.  It's not a necessity, but it really wakes up the motor.  But for now, I think you'll enjoy the cam.  Then again, new parts only hold you over for so long.  Eventually people always want more.
