Auto Racing: Auxillary fuel tank and pump, electric fuel pump, vent line

Question
What is a good method to bring the electric fuel pump wires throught an 1/8" thick aluminum top of an auxillary fuel tank? The tank has return fuel coming back from the rail. It is about 5" in diameter and about 15" tall.  It has an 1/8" vent line to above the normal tank level.  I can't dump the return fuel back to the main tanks.

Answer
The problem is sealing them effrectively so they don't leak fuel - - - probably the use of a regular neoprene grommet (not rubber) and some sealant. For this I would not use plain silicone, but ask for Permatex Hylomar.  I believe it's gasoline resistant, but be sure to read the instructions and specs before comitting to it.

Then be extra-carful to apply it to perfectly clean and neat surfaces, both in side and out, above and below. Goop up everything and give it a day or two to cure before using or exposing it to fuel again. Also , leave plenty of slack in the wires.

Good luck
