Auto Racing: suspension geometry, engine management system, suspension geometry

Question
I want to fit larger front and rear tires, but will it harm suspension geometry, if so could it be corrected, thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi John:

It won't really effect geometry so much as to alter the handling characteristics and of course, render your speedometer inaccurate.   Steering will be less precise, and stiffer, acceleration slower, and gas consumption higher.

More modern cars will suffer problems related to the engine management system which reads information from sensors that read axle speed, and so forth.

you didn't tell me what kind of car you are working on, nor what you hoped to accomplish with the change so I really can't tell you much more about it without further information .

Good luck
