Auto Racing: air intake, fillter, raly

Question
How bad is for the engin, if you replace a standard air fillter for a new raly spec cold air feed filter. What form of tunig is rquired?

makes include K&N and pipacross ext.

 It's not bad at all for the engine.  In fact, it would help your engine breathe better giving a little more power and slightly better fuel economy.  No tuning required, but you might want to reset the computer after installing it.  You can do that by disconnecting the battery (both terminals) and then leaving your key in the "accessory on" position for 20-30 minutes.  Reconnect the battery and start it up...the computer should relearn the motor's new modifications.  Hope this helps.
