Steering Column Repair: steering column, metal bowls, chrome paint

Where can i find a chrome steering column for a 93 Chevy c1500? I've been Googling with no success.

I know of no one that sell such a thing.  The upper and lower bowls are made of plastic or cast pot metal.  The only thing that is steel is the tube inside that you cannot see.

The older GM vehicles (60's style) had metal bowls that could be chromed at a plating shop, but I don't know how you can chrome plate plastic, short of just painting it with simulated chrome paint.
I would suggest talking to a plating company to get their opinion and direction.
