Auto Racing: gears & supercharger, summit racing, sarasota florida

Question
I am building a 615ci (4.6" bore and 4.625" stroke) drag racing engine, compression: 15:1, I was wondering what type of supercharger to use (12 or 14 -71), also what gears should I use in my tranny (1-1.7) and rear end (4.56-5.57) for ultimate 1/4 mile performance, if you need more info ask, thanks.

Answer
Hi Jay:

Sorry I can't help you , but I have two suggestions.

First get ahold of Summit Racing on their tech line.  Their guys do know their stuff.   Their web page is <<www.summitracing.com >>  Look for the tech line phone number.  It's a long distance call, but worth the trouble and cost. Also I have a distant friend who builds drag motors out west.  Randy Cooper, write to him at <<fastcash@cehighperformance.com>>

Finally, there's a guy here locally that has worked in that end of racing, but he's going to be away for a couple of weeks.  If you still need help by then, write me again and I'll try to pick his brain a little.

Good Luck
