I have a 1996 chryslerceiru with code 43 and startes when it wants to . where do i look first?

The 43 code is for mis-firing, either one, several, or all cylinders.
I would go to an Autozone parts store where they will do a free code readout with a plug in code reader to get the 4-digit fault codes which will tell us how many and which cylinder are involved. Get the numbers and let me know. If you don't have an Autozone near you then go to an independent garage that will do it for around $40. There are a great many possibilities for mis-fire but at least we would know if it was specific to the internals of the engine or related to ignition control systems. Tell me which engine you have, too.
