Auto Racing: Ladder bar setup., ladder bar setup, road circuits

Question
I've got a 79 mustang drag car. Back halved. Comp eng. setup. (bought it as a roller).
In either case, the way I've got the ladder bars set up (as low as they can go.........actually NO adjustment on front of bar), the bottom of the bar, (which I heard should be pointing upward or atleast level), IS at this point and time, pointing down.
Now, don't get me wrong, it hooks decent, (on good tracks), but doesn't on fairly decent tracks.
In order to make it so the bar would point upwards, I"d have to totally re-do the front link/ladder bar attaching points/etc.
I'm running total Hal (qa1), setup in the front (all tubular), with coil overs and 90/10 lakewood struts.
In the rear are comp eng. 3 way adjustable shocks, (coil over), and 150 pound springs.
Before I changed/swapped the front end over to all tubular (other than the K member), the car actually launched harder than it does now.
So far best 60 foot is a 1.34. Cars running my same ets are usually pulling high 20's or very, very low 30s..........
  Your thoughts.
thanks, Steve

Answer
Hi Steve:

Hah!  the last drag race I won was due to the fact that I was able to anticipate the FLAGMAN !  I vaguely remember something we called 'traction masters' and they were the very latest. Also tranny shields were being discussed, but were not yet required.

Now that you realize I'm not going to be able to offer any advice, you might want to get in touch with a distant friend.  Randy Cooper in the Phoenix, Az area is a drag racer of some merit, and may have some answers for you.  write to him at:<fastcash@cehighperformance.com >

I'm really sorry I couldn't be more help, but I'll be thinking of you as I tool around the road circuits here in sunny Florida

Best of luck
