Auto Racing: MODIFICATION TO A NON-TURBO CA 18, mandrel bends, cold air intake

Hey!, How can I make my car go faster without using turbo.I am putting a Ca 18 engine in 1993 Nissan Sentra.The only thing I could think of are extrators,free flow exhaust,cold air intake port and poolish.Could you give me any advice in anything else.And I also need help in suspension.

HI Brent !

You are wise to avoid the turbo and all the related complications.  Just more stuff to break.  

You can do the extractors, have a customn racing exhaust built, where they use mandrel bends instead of the pipe bender to make up the pipes. It's probably twice as expensive.  For the CA-18 engine, use 2 1/4" pipe for a good balance between street and track.

Also use a K&N fuel injection kit. (FIPK)   You can order it at www.summitracing.com though they probably don't stock it.

If you are going to the expense of porting and polishing the head, you might as well add hi performance camshafts.  Ask for a relatively mild grind for your purposes.  A full race cam (that everybody tells you about) isn't usable on the street.
