Auto Racing: Vulcan 3 Liter, throttle body spacer, ford ranger

I have a 92 taurus with the 3L Vulcan engine.  I have made a CAI for it and am considering some other mods to make her feel more like a SHO and less like the SLO that she is.  Can the throttle body spacer that would be used in the 3L Vulcan on the Ford Ranger be used on my Vulcan?  What are some other things to do to increase my horsepower.  I am also thinking about ignition work and advancing the timing.

 I've never had the occassion to look at the Ranger spacer and the Taurus spacer side by side, but my guess is that they'd be interchangeable.  Performance for a non-SHO Taurus is hard to come by.  I honestly don't know of any companies or shops that deal with non-SHO cars.  Other than small things like ignition and timing like you mentioned, I can't really think of any upgrades that wouldn't require disassembling the engine or fabricating parts yourself.  You might search around online in places like SHO website forums and see what those guys have to say...they may know a secret I don't.  Hope this helps.
