Auto Racing: Quick question on engine swap, ford taurus, 2004 ford taurus

Question
I had a very quick question regarding the feasibility of an engine swap. A drunk driver recently totaled our '99 Lincoln Continental (it was parked, so no one was hurt, including the driver). Although it suffered extensive body damage, the engine came out fine. I was just wondering, before I hauled it off to the junkyard, would it be possible to swap the FWD 4.6 V8 into my 1995 Ford Taurus? I know it's a far-out idea but since we'll be buying a brand new 2004 Ford Taurus I thought I might as well have some fun with the “old girl.” Thanks in advance.

Answer
Charles-

As much as I'd love to see something like that, I just don't think it'll fit.  The only V8 I've ever seen in a Taurus was the factory later model SHO motors...and those were something like 3.2L (Yamaha-made, oddly enough).  You could probably do it if you had a huge amount of time on your hands and knew how to do some serios custom work like reworking the frame and such.  Other than that I don't see it working.  Hope this helps.
