NASCAR Racing: better ratings, michael waltrip, quarter system

Question
Katie this is something that im trying to get talked up and out there
THE ANSWER FOR BETTER RATINGS,,  someone needs to check out what the points would have been last year if the drivers that where leading at every 25 or 50 lap marker where giving five extra points for leading the race at that time would have changed the chase drivers ,,this point system could change strategy of the race, and not only that, a car that had a good day with leading and was taken out near the end would at least be rewarded for having a decent day  ,,,,the whole team would benefit in doing this type of point system  {5 extra points for leader at every 25 to 50 laps of race} it would be like have 4or more races in a 200 lap race ,commentators could have a field day in pumping up the race a PR and marketing persons dream. fans would love it keep the points system just like it is just add the five every fifty for leading, NASA is missing something really big, with a change like this people would not walk away from the TV until the last 30 laps,  lets be real you know this happens, the best teams would always come out on top, {look at other sports they are broken up in a quarter system,} that makes people talk, people talking about the race to other people make other people nascar fans to watch,,,it would also make for harder racing, it would do away with the statement its to early to race that hard,or ill just lay out in the back until the end, ,, Chocolate Myers said that Michael Waltrip made the suggestion of giving 1 point for every lap lead ,,,I do not think that would work as well as the 3 to 5 ever25 or 50 to leader only ,,,and not only the points, but shave the front splitter so it doesn’t stick out so far to knock of 3.00 dollar valve stems knocking out a 200k car in short track racing, there are benefits to doing this.  I am just a guy who had a racing accident that left me paralyzed, however I have a little commonsense and this will work.if a pole was taken and  presented in the proper way you would find the fans and teams would go for this point system, it would make for better and harder racing you would see some last 10 lap racing every 25 or 50 laps look at the trucks that’s the best racing in NASCAR  them boys go crazy because the race is short ,no lagging back ,,,could you imagine at lap 40 that kind of wild racing and at lap 90 and 140 and 190 its like a sprint ,its like getting 4 or more all out sprints in a 200 lap race JUST THINK A 400 LAP RACE,,,I know im going on and on, but yall need to get it ,,,,,IT WILL WORK

PS I would love  to be one of the 12,000 people evaluation team for NASCAR, and by the way I am a Johnson fan all the way. this is not a hating change for the reason of this request im a 48 fan.     Thanks
THE RESULTS WILL BE more people watching mo money mo money 4 you  better racing for me,  do my point system change and add more money to your pocket

Answer
I agree with you that the current system is flawed, it's why it's been tweeked on so much. Your idea is definitely a valid point, and would possibly improve the ratings. However, in the grand scheme of things it still comes down to competition level. That change may definitely alter the way teams approach a race weekend, and would absolutely benefit drivers that lead great chunks of the race, and have bad luck. It however would'nt change dominate teams, or who is likely to win. I have heard a lot of different angles on why the ratings are down, a lot of it has been because fans see no point in watching when thier driver has little chance of winning. This change would definitely help the racing itself, but we would probably see the same few guys winning the races.
You have a good idea here, a lot of ideas have been thrown around lately about changing the sport. However, NASCAR making another change to the system like this isn't very likely. It's something to think about though. Thanks for your input.
