NASCAR Racing: lugnuts, debris, jordan

I have long understood about the fresh lugnuts, the ones on the replacement tire, but where do the old ones go as they are removed?

Hi Pat,

You see the pit guys take those lugnuts off really, really fast.  They hit the ground and just roll away.  Normally, after every pit stop, a crewman will go and take a long brush and sweep the pit box area to make sure that lugnuts and any debris like fluid are properly taken care of.
