NASCAR Racing: Long Long night in Cali, sterling marlin, rain delays

Question
Are teams allowed to work on their cars during rain delays?  If not, can a car that has wrecked before the delay but is able to race, allowed to be worked on in the garage and then brought back out to race once it restarts?

Hi Anthony,

The answer to both of the questions is no.  They treat all the red flags the same, whether its a bad crash, or rain. The drivers or crews cannot even touch the car when the red flag is out.  I don't know if you are a longtime fan, but if you can remember Sterling Marlin...he tried to get out and tug on a fender to get it back into place.  When the offical told him to quit, he shrugged like he didn't know what he was doing, then got back in the car.  That happened like 13 to 17 years ago.
