Car Stereos: accessory and constant, car stereos, chrysler 300

Question
Hi, I'm having some trouble hooking up my car stereos in my 05 neon and my 07 Chrysler 300. I have them both hooked up and wired up to work but they are both running on constant power. I had my neon hooked up to accessory but I unhooked to test a used dock I bought and now its back to constant. I would really like to not have to worry of turning off my deck everytime I get out of my car.

I'm also in need of installing a switch in the 300 so that I can turn off the subs when someone else is driving the car. I can hook it up the remote wire (blue one) and it works fine but I bought a blue led switch and I'd like to have it light up when the car is on could you help me with this issue too, thank you so much for your time and help.

Answer
Hi Joe,

You'll have to simply locate the accessory wires and hook them up -- if you used an aftermarket harness, this should be simple as it will be labelled.  If you didn't, you should put back the old harness and get an aftermarket harness. ;)  It will save you a world of pain.

If you've thrown away the old harness, then accessory on an '05 and '07 Chrysler should both be red/white.

As for the blue LED, simply wire it in parallel with the 12v remote wire on + and ground on - on the switched side of the switch you install in the dash, which will be in series on the remote wire.
