NASCAR Racing: Goodyear Eagle racing tire, texas motor speedway, goodyear eagle

Question
QUESTION: I trying to find out who to contact to get information on a tire purchased from Texas Motor Speedway. I wanted to find out which car it came from.

ANSWER: The only way you can find out is if the car number is written on the side of the tire. When GoodYear mounts tires on teams rims the number of the car is usually written in yellow crayon on the sidewall.

QUESTION: I figured that Goodyear or NASCAR would track tires via the numbers embedded on the tire (like the DOT number on highway tires) to provide feedback on tire wear and so on. The only thing in yellow on the outside of the tire is LF.7.

Thanks for your time.

Answer
I don't believe they track individual tires. All tires are made from the same molds and sizes. I doubt you'll be able to find out who's tire that was so just tell everybody it came off your favorite drivers car. It's possible and who's to say it didn't. By the way, that's Left Front, Set 7.
Sorry I can't give you a specific answer But I don't think anyone could.
