does sponsors get any purse money

Hi Ray,

The purse money goes to the team who get upwards of 70% while the Driver may or may not get 40 or 30% of it, since purses add up to be several hundred thousand dollars in one race.  The team part of that will divide it up to the sponsors and team employees.  Another strategy some used back in the day and still may or may not use is that the sponsor pays the team money to have their name on the car, and in turn, the team would pay to fix their own cars, etc.
