NASCAR Racing: Aarons 400 Talladega results, caution flag, s 400

Question
During the race, announcers said that if the caution flag was thrown during the green-white-checker laps, the field would be frozen and the race would be over. I have watched the replay of those laps many times and Tony Stewart was clearly in the top 10 (about 1 second away from smacking the outside wall) when the caution was thrown. Why do the offical race results have him finishing in 28th position?

Answer
True the cars are frozen in position at that point but the cars must continue to circle the track and take the checkers. If you'll check the standings you'll see that Tony was unable to finish the last two laps, completing 190 of the scheduled 192 laps. He finished two laps down, in 28th place.
