Chevrolet Repair: 1995 Z28 engine cut off, necessary money, engine exhaust

Question
I have a 1995 Camaro Z28. I was driving it the other night and gave it some gas and when i did, the engine/exhaust made a bubbly noise, like some gas was getting through and some wasn't, then the car just shut off. I'm thinking it's either the fuel pump or some type of coil or ignition problem. What do you think it could be and do you think I could fix it myself pretty easily?

Answer
If it is a fuel pump it is not an easy repair.  You need the car up in the air and you need to lower the rear axle out of the way.  Also you need to remove the exhaust.  A coil is easier. Either way you should have it diagnosed so you don't spend un necessary money.
