How are the race pay outs figured? I noticed that some who may have finished 35th won more than one who finished 20th.Can you explain? Thanks

the race purse is given to the drivers in order of the finish, with 1st getting the most and 43rd getting the least. Money bonuses for a lap leader award, or midway leader award are given in addition to that. So, In the Daytona 500, Tony Stewart probably got more than Clint Bowyer due to the added bonuses
