BMW Repair: brake issues, brake pipes, translation problem

Question
QUESTION: I have little brake power in my 1992 318i convertible.  I checked the pads and
everything looked ok.  I tried to bleed the brakes and I noticed my driver side
caliper wasn't getting any fluid.  I then traced that line up to what I believe is
the brake booster.  The outlet to that caliper from the booster wasn't putting
out fluid, but the right side did.  I assume I have a problem with the booster,
but I don't see how the lines come out.  I loosened the nut but couldn't get
the line out all the way.....Please let me know if I'm on the right track and if
so, what am I missing when removing the booster?

ANSWER: The booster just boosts the pedal effort, I think you are talking about the master cylinder, if nothing is coming out then replace it.

QUESTION: I do know what and were the master cylinder is, what I checked was the booster.
Would the master cylinder only allow fluid to one side?

Answer
Sorry, maybe we have a translation problem here.

The booster, as said before only boosts the pedal effort and in no way has anything to do with the delivery of the hydraulic fluid. It is fed vacuum from the engine.

The master cylinder(that bolts directly in front of the booster) has the brake pipes originating from it.

Very rare to fail I must say,but if fluid is coming out of the left side and not the right then so be it.

More common is internal failure of the flexible rubber pipe that connects to the caliper, acting like a 1 way valve.

Good luck
