BMW Repair: Steering wheel, torx screws, steering wheel

I have a 89 535i and I need to replcae the ignition switch. How do I take the steering wheel off? What is teh catch???

No idea what a teh catch is .

To remove the steering wheel you need to DISCONNECT the battery 1st.
take the 2 torx screws out of the back side of  the airbag disconnect the wire and place it face up somewhere safe.

remove the large nut, mark the position on the threads for reference, turn the key to release
the wheel and remove.

remove the upper and lower plastic covers to expose the switch.
