BMW Repair: 1990 bmw 325is, bmw 325is, turning corners

Question
i just bought this about a week ago. and noticed that when shifting from reverse to first, or reverse to second (mostly) and turning corners tightly i hear a clunky noise that sounds like it is coming from the rear passenger side. i had brought it to the mechanic and he cant seem to find anything wrong with this car at all. says the car is safe to drive. but its still is worrying me. have any ideas?

Answer
Hi Layna, don't worry as the car is safe but needs attention.
My favorite model by the way!

Have your mechanic look closely at the rear sub frame bushes, especially the side you are referring to.

Tell him its the round rubber mount about the size of a beer can very near the tire.

Special tools are required to replace these mounts so it might be wise to find someone with the tools and knowledge to replace them ,if diagnosed.

They collapse and allow the sub frame to move around.

Good luck
