BMW Repair: Help!, auto logic, wheel speed

Question
I have a 1998 328i.  When driving the car it will lose power, like I have taken my foot off the gas but have not, and the traction control and the ASC light will come on.  When it gets hooked up to auto logic the code indicates the throttle potentiometer is bad. I have gotten it changed but the problem still persists.  What do you think could be causing this problem?

Answer
Tough to diagnose this over the web, but sounds like you may have a bad wheel speed sensor.  It could be sending a bad reading, and the traction control and ASC are picking up the signal, and figure you have lost traction, and the controller is backing off on the accelerator.

When it happens, look to see if the speedometer is flaking out too.  If so, it's on the rear corner that picks up your wheel speed for the speedometer.

Search the message boards for a bad wheel speed sensor, also known as an ABS sensor.
