BMW Repair: timingchain, variable valve timing, chassis number

Question
how does one aline the timing chian in a 92 325i 2.5l

Answer
Randy this will take too long to answer and you need a few special tools ,crankshaft lock, camshaft locking tools, also if its got vanos you need a few more.
If that hasn't put you off, go on ebay and buy a"tis" cd for BMW.
Technical Information System.
Once you load it, put in your chassis number and pick the right subject ie camshaft timing and follow the precise instructions to the letter.

Yours probably does not have duel vanos (variable valve timing, intake AND exhaust) and you can get away with making up the crank pin and marking the camshafts and use a wooden template to ensure the cams are aligned.

The tis cd is from bmw and has great step by step pictures.

Good luck
