BMW Repair: Help! my 1993 bmw 325i wont start, bmw 325i, battery connection

Question
HI,

Please help me with this problem. It was driving fine yesterday and all of a sudden when i went out to start my car it wouldn't turn on. the engine turns but just not turning over. I checked the battery and it is good and i also checked the battery connection which also seems to be fine. The pump fuses are both good. It almost looks like there is no Gas. but there is almost half a tank. PLEASE HELP!

Answer
There's a wierd problem with the 325's (I have a '92).  I'm not sure its ever been fully figured out, but sometimes when it's been run only a short distance (very short.....100 feet or less), the next time you try to start, you get symptoms like you describe.

IF, repeat IF, this is it, I believe it's from TOO MUCH fuel, rather than too little.  I usually treat it like it's flooded:  Pedal to the metal and let it crank until it starts.

The other way to deal with it is to wait and try it again later.  I think it's the same result (too much fuel, and time resolves it).

If it's occassional, don't sweat it.  And if you got it because you backed out of the garage and washed it, then it's like most.

See if that isn't the case.
