---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: i drove it around 30 miles!

when i first tried to start it, it crank and not fire.

but tried again today and it wont crank but this could be the battery??

help!!!!

Answer
Not likely the battery.  Would be an unusual coincidence if it failed at the same time as your coolant problem, unless you cranked it down trying to restart it.

I would try jumping it from another car, or another battery, or charging the battery.

If the car won't start, you may have a serious problem.  BMW engines are high performance and hate being overheated, which is what happened when you drove without the cap.

So if it doesn't start, it's probably time for a professional to look at it.

Where do you live?
