AnswerNot likely the battery. Would be an unusual coincidence if it failed at the same time as your coolant problem, unless you cranked it down trying to restart it.
I would try jumping it from another car, or another battery, or charging the battery.
If the car won't start, you may have a serious problem. BMW engines are high performance and hate being overheated, which is what happened when you drove without the cap.
So if it doesn't start, it's probably time for a professional to look at it.
