BMW Repair: 2002 525i sunroof problem, independent bmw, rear position

Hi & thanks in advance for any help.

The sun roof in my 2002 525i will slide open and retract just fine. However a few days ago it stopped it's ability to open in the venting (glass raised in the rear), position. I can hear the motor run & it unlocks so I can manually push up the rear of the glass, but but it won't tilt.

You're sunroof will not vent because the plastic guides that push the arms that tilt the glass have broken, They can be replaced and unless you are a very technical person i would not recommend this repair, find a good independent BMW only repair shop to do the repairs, it can be repaired so don't let them tell you that you have to replace the whole sunroof cassette. Also i would not use the sunroof until you can have it repaired due to the fact that it can be damaged beyond repair.  Hope this help                 Thanks Nathan
