BMW Repair: 2001 bmw 525i rear view mirror, rear view mirror, bmw 525i

Question
I was removing a transponder (for toll highway) when the rear view mirror snapped out of the mounting.  Mounting is still glued firmly to the windshield.  Should I remove the mounting from the windshield, assemble with the mirror and mount it back?  Appreciate your advice.

If the metal mounting is still attached to the glass then you just need to twist the mirror back on if the metal mount came off you need to first re attache with a special glue for glass that is designed to put that mount back on the glass. I think that was the question.   hope that helps.... Nathan
