BMW Repair: 1989 bmw 325i, needle nose pliers, vent area

Question
how do I change the lightbulb for the dashboard computer display of a 1989 bmw 325i? How do you access the bulb? how does the unit come out of the dash?

Answer
there are a few screws in the vent area and you want to be able to pull the panel back far enough to access to the side of the OBC. Then trim away a little plastic to clear an area for the light rail to be pulled out and replaced with needle nose pliers. This is the fast way, the slow and proper way is to remove everything and unscrew the OBC from behind.
