BMW Repair: 2000 BMW 323Ci, 2000 bmw 323ci, bmw 323ci

Question
The check engine light, EML, and traction control lights all came on simultaneously while driving home earlier today.  The car was not driving over 45mph, and it is riding very rough.  What can possibly be wrong with it?  I haven't pulled any codes yet.  Is this common?

Answer
Max, usually a defective throttle body assembly, but you should have it diagnosed to avoid wasteing money throwing parts at the car. I am best helpful with information off of a BMW dealership diagnostic report print out, which you have the right to ask for a copy of if you choose to have the dealer diagnose it. If the throttle body is faulty also pay to have the idle valve cleaned out and the rubber throttle boot/intake duct will undoubtedly by brittle or cracked. Replace it.
