BMW Repair: 1992 325I E36 leaking from oil filter housing, dowel pins, oil filter housing

Question
I have a 1992 bmw 325I.It's the E36 model. I am leaking oil under the oil filter housing. I can tell where it is coming from, but I'm not sure if the filter housing or some sort of seal, or plug needs to be replaced. This is coming from the area directly beneath the filter housing. Can some one give me some info as to what needs to be done to resolve this.
Thanks

Answer
Brian replace the oil filter to engine block profile gasket. You will need to remove drive belt and engine accessories (alternator, P/S pump) then you can access the six bolts that bolt the housing to the block. Pay attention to belt routing before removal. Make sure dowel pins that locate housing to block are undamaged. Recheck fluid levels.
