Answer
David, I first piece of advise is to buy a chilton, bentley, or haynes manual for your car. It will help out quite a bit if you are making repairs yourself. Remove the window motor and connections. I can't remember if it is bolted in from the backside or not. Make sure the window motor works with out the regulator. Separate white clips from window and move window to the top and hold there or remove completely. Always replace the white slider clips and lube the tracks they ride in. When you install them you will hear a loud 'pop' once they fully seat. Don't be fooled and clip them half in. Remove the regulator mounting bolts and nuts or rivets if it original (you mentioned it wasn't). It isn't the easiest job due to some of the location of the bolts and nuts, but you can do it if you are determined and are patient.
