BMW Repair: BMW 525, bmw 525, temperature sensor

Hello.I have BMW 525 2001.When I try look what temperature outside,I see -40F What's wrong?Thank you.

Vladas, your outside temperature sensor is broken. It is located in the front right bumper corner (black plastic fender liner triangular shaped piece.) The probe needs to be replaced (65 81 6 905 133), also if the connector or wiring is damaged repair that too. You might need to replace the fender liner triangle support (51 71 8 159 426 or the like). You will need to get some screws and clips probably (07 11 9 901 299, and 07 12 9 925 731). Your local BMW parts counter person will help you, if he/she doesn't get what you are looking for ask for a back parts counter person who helps the techs in the shop they will know for sure. Your A/C compressor will not work with the temp reading -40F. Double check all part numbers.
