BMW Repair: windshield wipers 97 528i, windshield wipers, placard

My windshield wipers just quit working suddenly.  Where and what can I do to fix them myself?

Rich usually the wiper relay or relays have failed depending on your vehicle production date. Please give the last seven digit of the VIN so I can tell you what parts to order. Also the production date will be on the black door jam placard on the driver's door or jam (example 05/97).
