BMW Repair: Temp gauge problem, fan clutch, head gasket

Question
I have a 95 318is and recently the temp gauge rises up a little more than it suppose to.  When it was operating properly the temp needle  advance to the mid way point and stays there  but now it moves just a little more to the right it's just a little like 0.4 inches or less and stays there all the time until i stop the engine of course. is the water pump getting old??? by the way my car has almost 75.000 miles. what should i do? thank's for the answer.

Answer
Alvaro, I would have the cooling system inspected. Including the electric fan and mechanical fan clutch for proper operation. BMW's are very sensitive to overheating so I would have this remedied before you loose a head gasket or worse. Not to scare you, I'm just tell the truth.
I would start with a water pump and thermostat if you have never changed them. Probably run $175 in parts.
