BMW Repair: BMW Oil type and change intervals, 2001 bmw 325xi, bmw 325xi

I have a 2001 BMW 325XI, last seven digits of the VIN are:EE25001. My questions is in two parts: 1.) Do BMW dealer service centers usually use synthetic fuel in this model, and do you recommend it; 2.) What is the BMW recommended (general) oil change interval in miles for both synthetic and non-synthetic (traditional) oil for this model car? Thanks.

Don, BMW recommends 5W-30 full synthetic motor oil only. BMW has contracted with Castrol. So the oil I use at the dealer for your model is Castrol 5w-30 full synthetic. Oil and filter changes are 15,000 miles apart. You can change you oil more frequently if you wish. Traditional oil is not permitted in your M54 engine. I am unsure of what is ment by "synthetic fuel."
