QUESTION: can I do this procedure or must the dealer do it?  Where is the dsc unit located?
How is this coded or replaced

Answer
Tim, The DSC control unit is the black plastic portion of the unit with all the brake lines going to it. It has six torx screws and a big electrical connector. It is located in the front of the engine bay. Only the dealer can code this or an independent that has a BMW diagnosis machine with software. It will be expensive.
