BMW Repair: jerking in second gear, max engine speed, 328ci

Question
i have recently purchased a used 2000 328ci manual now when i accelerate in first everything seems ok once i pop it into second gear and step on the gas there is jerking btwn 1000 - 2000 rpm the only way i can manage out of this is if i acccelerate really slowly until have reached about 25-30 miles per hour den i can step on it but btwn 15-25 mph in second gear i cant accelerate at full throttle if i do the car begins to shake and jerk. the person i bought the car from had recently replaced all 6 spark plugs and the number 2 and 5 ignition coils you have any idea on what may be the problem?

Answer
Sameer, If you want to step on the gas that early, then you need to keep it in first gear a little longer than 15mph. It sounds as if you are upshifting too early and lugging the motor (incorrect gear ratio and throttle postion Vs. Road speed). Hold your first gear a lot closer to max engine speed and then shift to second if you are into the full throttle action. I don't think there is anything wrong with the car from the speeds and gear you are selecting.
