BMW Repair: Installation question, torx screws, installation question

I need to know how to change the light bulb on the instrument panel of my 1998 318i

Monica, I am assuming you mean the instrument cluster and not the A/C controls or the check control computer. Remove the plastic cover surrounding the cluster if there is one on your car. Remove the torx screws at the top of the instrument cluster. Tilt the cluster down and wiggle out. Remove the connectors to the cluster only with the key off. The bulbs will be in the back attached to little hexagon plastic sockets turn Hex sockets a little counter clockwise and remove. Installation is reverse procedure. Inspect all the bulbs and socket contacts.
