BMW Repair: bmw drivers door window wont go down, bmw drivers, bmw 528i

I have a 1996 BMW 528I that the drivers door window will  only open a couple of inches. What do you think is wrong and how can I remove the panel to inspect and repair the problem.

Joe, probably a faulty window lifter mechanism (regulator). Remove the plastic Airbag symbol and remove the screw. Remove the screw behind the inner door handle. Pull the inner door handle assembly and disconnect the green hook and cable and remove. Pry the perimeter of the door panel away from the door. Once you have popped all the clips loose grab the door grab handle and pull forcefully up and outward. The black plastic retainer on the door needs to go back on the panel to reinstall. Don't tear the foam vapor barrier and make sure it seals well when you put it back.
