BMW Repair: wheel shudders, control arm bushings, lower control arm bushings

hi evan....i have a 1999 318is coupe....i find when driving at highways speed and i drive over a bridge lets say and there's a bump.....my front wheel starts to shudder only for a couple of seconds and then it's back to smooth driving.....ball joint(s) or struts?.....many thanks.....jeff

Jeff, have the front suspension checked out. You are on the right track, Lower control arm bushings are common Inner and outer ball joints are also common. Struts are good to replace around 100-150K miles. Do all four. Check your tire inflation and balance.
