BMW Repair: 9/91 E36 4dr A/T cruise control problem, lever switch, cruise control

Hi- I was not able to get the cruise to set on the wife's 325i and think it may be the lever switch. I am getting continuity on all wires except the Blue - Black wire on resume. Also the Brown - Black wire from the shift switch has no power getting to the control box. Are there any common problems known for this year? Any help would be welcome.

Hello Dan,
I am sorry, but I do not bother to diagnose wires and pins in
cruise control switches. I just replace the whole switch(lever).
And there are no known common problems in all BMW cruise controls. While there is one service bulletin dating back to 1990, it touches only on how to diagnose using pins related to grounds, enabling and disabling. Again, I and those that I know consider it not worthwhile diagnosing something that is almost always a faulty switch. I am sorry that I can not be of further help.
