-----Question-----
Okay, here is the story. Yesterday I was driving my "97 528i automatic" home from a school meeting ( i am a med student.) I was driving the normal route and i went to turn a corner and i pushed the gas the car just DIED... so i coasted into a walgreens and put it in park and turned the key to my surprise it started... so i continued to drive home, which when i was driving home 4 miles it drove ok except when i pushed the gas to start from a light they it tried to die again.... Then today i went out and tried to start the car and all it does is crank over and over and over... i checked the fuel pump fuses both in the trunk and glovebox they were good... What else can it be?

YES there is gas in the vehicle i even went to the local shell and bought extra and dumped in there...

Is there a fuel reset switch, my 2004 mustang gt has one?

I would appreciate any ideas you might have thanks Matthew
-----Answer-----
Hi Matthew,
Kindly refer to my answer to Glenn (1996 bmw e38). My answer to you is the same one I gave him(check for fuel pressure and spark). Get back to me when you have done some preliminary checking.
And no, there is no such thing as a fuel reset switch in a beemer.

Answer
Hi Matthew,
If you look for my previously answered questions you would find it. But here is the gist of it:
a) check for fuel pressure at the fuel rail, if there is 35 to 45 psi well and good, if it has at least 8 to 10 psi it is not good but it will suffice to start the engine. If there is none, check the fuel pump fuses(you say you have done this already) and relay (inside the e-box)
b) check for spark at the spark plug, if none check engine fuses inside glove box, also 5 gang fuse inside e-box, also DME relay inside e-box
c) if there is fuel and spark, then you need to have the car scanned for faults. Diagnosing your car on a trial and error basis in lieu of scan results would be very frustrating, and time and money consuming for you.
