BMW Repair: Wind shield Washer, jumper wires, bmw 520

Question
I have just got a BMW 520 se, On activating the wind screen washer, I hear the pump running, wipers work correctly but no water. I found that the water comes up VERY slowly to the bonnet connection but has not got the umph to get further, what should I do?

Answer
Patrick, Remove the water hose connector from the pump. Activate the pump. Pump should emit a torent of fluid. If it does then the problem is up stream in the hoses or nossels. Use compressed air in the hose to make sure the passages are clear. Make sure the nossels aren't covered up with calcium. If the pump doesn't put out then remove it and get some jumper wires and a 12Volt battery. Get a bowl or water and run the pump with suction portion in the water. If the pump doesn't put out water the replace it. If the pump does put out water in a strong stream then remove the resevoir. Pull the rubber plug that the washer pump fits in. If the screen is plugged with Goo then flush out the resevoir and screen and refill with new washer fluid. Please fill out a follow up survey if this info helps you.
