BMW Repair: e30 skips when its raining, bearly, distributor cap

hi, I have a question about my 1987 325 E. Whenever it is raining out, my car
starts to skip or hesitate. When I hit the gas to the max the car bearly goes. A
few days ago when it was raining trhe car started skipping and my starter
went. If you can please help me with this it would be greatly appreciated.

 This sounds like you have an area in your ignition system that is allowing moisture to get in.  Moisture in the ignition system is never a good thing.  Check your distributor cap and see if it's cracked.  Check all your plug wires for cracks in their boots as this could be an area too.
