BMW Repair: bmw 750 on board computer, sophisticated diagnostic equipment, bmw cars

i have a 98 750il with the navigation system recently the tv screen quit working it just says in bold letter bette warten which i beleive means please wait in german the radio works but i cant activate the tv or the on board computer any ideas what could be causing problem?

I wish I could give you a simple answer to this question. All the items that could be involved are costly ones (NAV computer, Video Module). It would be to your benefit to have the problem diagnosed by a dealer since only they have the sophisticated diagnostic equipment to deal with these type of problems. And usually, after parts replacement follows programming and coding of control modules.
The problem is more acute with I-Drive BMW cars and they
can never be properly repaired by non-dealers due to the ever present need for diagnosis, programming and coding in almost all aspects of the car's operation.
